Our latest ‘Active Profiler’ comes from our Head of Property and Regeneration, associate director Nicky Hughes

1) Were you named after anyone?

Sadly, no...

2) What do you enjoy most about your job?

Working with the team to achieve great results for our clients. I love going out and meeting people too, so the networking and events side of what I do is really enjoyable.

3) Would you ever do a bungee jump?

Nope

4) Favourite meal/type of cuisine?

Spanish - I love tapas and shellfish

5) Last movie you watched?

At the cinema… It was ages ago – Star Wars in 3D I think (it cost a fortune!). At home, the last film I watched was Scream.

6) What book are you reading now?

Hadley Freeman – Life Moves Pretty Fast: The Lessons We Learned from 80s Movies (and Why We Don’t Learn Them from Movies Anymore).

7) What’s the #1 most played song on your IPod?

Pixies - Here Comes Your Man

8) What chore do you absolutely hate doing?

Ironing…

9) What is your favourite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?

Time of day – 11:11 – I see it every day for some reason.

Day of the week - Saturday

Month of the year - I love April because it has my birthday and Wedding Anniversary in it and I always go on holiday for a week during April.

10) If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

My first PR boss, Mieke van Nunen who I worked for at Leisure Parcs in Blackpool. She could be really harsh but she was an amazing person and she taught me a lot.

11) Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?

Jimmy Stewart, Steven Spielberg, Michael Stipe, Ana Matronic

12) When you have 30 minutes of free-time, what do you do?

Walk the dog or watch an episode of Friends

13) What’s the most exotic holiday you’ve been on?

Not exotic but probably the most luxurious holiday I’ve had was at the Hotel Neri in Barcelona. I went to Venice Carnival too, which was pretty amazing

14) What’s your biggest pet peeve?

I have two – ‘More than 10 items at the till’ people (you know who you are!) and people who try to get on the train before you have got off

15) Where are you originally from?

Runcorn, Cheshire

16) What’s one professional and/or personal skill you’d like to have?

Professionally, I would like to be able to write shorthand

Personally, I would like to be able to sing… properly

17) What’s your proudest achievement so far? 

Becoming associate director and head of property and regeneration at Active Profile. It was a real milestone for me and I love my new role. My parents are beyond proud too, they tell everyone!

18) Last restaurant you went to?

El Gato Negro, Manchester

19) If you had access to a time machine where and when would you go?

I’d like to go back to the 1930s and see what my grandparents were like when they were teenagers

20) Now for the biggy – are you a cat or dog person?

Dog person... Definitely, they love you, cats just put up with you
