Team to take on charity abseil with Sensor City

Read Time: 1 minutes

We are taking fundraising to new heights this weekend as Jo, Carrie and Amy H are all set to abseil from the top of Sensor City, all in the name of raising money for breast cancer awareness.

Sensor City, which has joined forces with Liverpool’s Breast Cancer Survivors’ Dragon Boat Team, Pool of Life, is hosting the community fun-day and charity abseil on Sunday 29th October, 9am – 4:30pm.

The team are hoping to attract over 100 people to take part in the challenge and raise money for a fantastic local cause.

Would-be daredevils are encouraged to register for places right up until the event takes place so if you fancy the challenge there’s still plenty of time to sign up and get involved.

The brave Active Profile team will join participants including Alison Mitchell of Sensor City and Colin Sinclair of KQ, to abseil down the 65ft tall Sensor City building, with panoramic views across Liverpool’s iconic skyline.

For those who prefer to keep their feet on solid ground, refreshments will be available throughout the day as well as activities for youngsters while the abseils do their thing.

You’ll also be able take a look around Sensor City and get a behind the scenes look at the city’s newest innovation hub.

The money raised at this event will go towards the Pool of Life Charity, which helps to support those diagnosed and treated with breast cancer. As a charity dragon boat support group, they provide breast cancer survivors with a place to exercise and learn a new skill.

The event is taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as part of the annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease.
