As a business founded by a computer science graduate, Active Profile has always been passionate about technology and widening participation in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths).
Our enthusiasm for digital and tech has helped us to establish a solid client base in this sector and we’re delighted to announce that we’re building on this by partnering with Liverpool Girl Geeks.
With just 5% of current leadership positions in the tech sector being held by women (according to latest data from PwC), making opportunities available to young people is central to shaping the future of the tech industry.
The importance of mentors, community networks and strong female role models to help break down the barriers facing women cannot be underestimated. Liverpool Girl Geeks’ programme of events, courses, and workshops act as a springboard for female talent, and we are delighted to be able to offer our support to the programme.
Our head of innovation and tech, and senior account director, Jo Spragg, said of the partnership: “Liverpool Girl Geeks embody two things that we’re super passionate about: the tech sector and opportunities for young people.
“Having followed their progress with interest for some time now, we’re delighted to be joining them as a partner and look forward to supporting them as they continue to inspire more females to enter and remain in the digital and tech sector.”
Jo Morfee, director at Liverpool Girl Geeks, added: “We are delighted to be working with Active Profile as they truly care about diversity and lead by example. As one of the leading PR, marketing, and digital consultancies in the city, we are proud to call them our partner and we look forward to working with them more closely to achieve our mission.”
Active Profile will be in good company, as other Liverpool Girl Geek partners include Shop Direct, SONY, Mando, Amaze, Ripple Effect and Uniform.
