Active Profile takes career support online

Read Time: 1 minutes

PR and marketing agency, Active Profile has launched a new online workshop series to help people ‘break into’ the industry.

The initiative aims to give people an opportunity to find out more about life in a fast-paced, growth-driven agency and give them some helpful advice, so that they can build on their skills and future careers.

With many agencies working from home and following social distancing regulations, people may have missed out on valuable work experience and internship placements this summer, however Active Profile hopes to help fill the gap through the ‘Break Into…’ programme.

Commenting on the launch, MD of Active Profile, Anna Heyes, said: “We know how much people get out of spending time in a real work environment, and what they learn from those experiences can set them up for their first jobs in the PR and marketing industry.

“It’s unfortunate that due to current circumstances, many may not have benefitted from that this year and as an agency we wanted to try something out to set them on the road to success. We have a diverse skill set within our team, with colleagues all taking different routes into the roles they’re now in, so there should be something of interest for everyone.

Active Profile is home to 14 PR, growth marketing, PPC and graphic design specialists who have worked with a wide array of property and technology clients, as well as having broader experience in other sectors and B2C communications.

During the first ‘Break Into…’ session, attendees will hear how the agency got started, what a ‘typical’ day looks like, as well as guidance on what they can do to stand out from the crowd with future employers.

“As part of our launch of ‘Break Into…’, we will also be committing to offering different work experience and shadowing opportunities with the team in the future,” added Anna. “For the time being, the sessions will be held online meaning that anyone in the UK can take part but when the time is appropriate, we will invite people into the offices so that they can have a more hands on experience.”

The first introductory ‘Break Into…’ session will be focused PR, marketing and graphic design and held on Thursday 10th September from 1pm – 2pm, with those with specific interest areas split into individual breakout groups.
