Meet Active Profile's new faces

Read Time: 3 minutes

It’s been a busy month here at Active Profile. March saw lots of exciting new business opportunities, as well as new software, a spankin’ new office in the centre of the Baltic Triangle well on its way, and, somewhere along the way, we picked up three new starters!

Joining AP at various points during the last month or so, it’s been all systems go, but now they’re all settled in, we thought we’d introduce you to our new recruits…

Cait, Account Executive

What’s your role?
I’m an account executive on the AP public relations team. I work with a number of clients dealing with the PR side of the business, specialising in all things property and regeneration.

What was it like starting a new job in lockdown?
It has been really different. Although there are team drinks and they’re really chilled, you can’t just speak to the person next to you when you want to something, you capture the attention of the whole call! So it can be really daunting as a new person – but it’s been great to see everyone’s interfering pets during meetings and virtual Friday drinks.

What are you most looking forward to about getting back to the office?
I’m really looking forward to just speaking to people, not having to zoom call and just having a general chat in the office. I’m also really curious to see how tall everybody is…

What’s a typical day like for you at AP?
Each day involves a lot of client liaison; we keep in close contact so that we’re on top of everything. We are a very close-knit pod and we have regular catch-ups too, which are really good whilst we are homebased.

Describe yourself in three words:

Organised, tidy and friendly!

Jonny, Digital Campaigns Manager

What’s your role?

I'm the digital campaigns manager on the growth marketing team. I’ve worked in digital marketing for eight years, specialising in PPC, user experience and analytics, so I’m looking forward to applying these skills to this campaign-focused role.

What was it like starting a new job in lockdown?

It came with its challenges. I’ve been here for 7 weeks and still haven’t met any of my colleagues! It’s been tough having to do everything virtually, but at the same time it’s been really efficient. Slack has been awesome because it keeps a log of the comments people make on campaigns that could get missed or forgotten if they were said in the office.

What’s a typical day like for you at AP?

Every day is different, which I love, but a typical day involves lots of client meetings and campaign management. We've got a series of big campaigns about to kick-off which is exciting. These have involved a lot of workshops and meetings to demonstrate the types of lead generation campaigns and approach that we will deliver to our clients. We're still in lockdown, so my 10-month-old son, Jesse, tends to pop up in my Zoom background throughout the day, which my colleagues don't seem to mind too much!

What attracted you to AP?

I really wanted to try working for a performance marketing/growth marketing agency. I’ve worked in house for my whole career, marketing just one company and its services, so I wanted to try running campaigns for a range of different clients. I also really like the culture. There’s only 14 of us so there’s a real togetherness and a ‘we’re all in this together’ mentality.

Describe yourself in 3 words:

Enthusiastic. Driven. Inquisitive.

Megan, Account Manager

What’s your role?

I’m an account manager for the PR team. I handle PR, communications and social media for a range of different clients, as well writing blog posts, pitches and thought leadership pieces.

What was it like starting a new job in lockdown?

Strange! The most difficult thing for me was not being able to absorb those little nuggets of information that help you on your way during your first few weeks. Being isolated whilst learning a new role in a new sector was tough – but the team have been great in answering any questions. It also really helped that I started on the same day as my teammate, Cait.

What’s a typical day like for you at AP?

A typical day for me involves a lot of client research and liaison with both journalists and clients. Writing is a big part of my role, so I spend a lot of time drafting and editing my work. There are also a lot of calls, both internally and externally, to make sure we never miss a trick and can jump on any opportunity. I also spend about 40% of my day grappling with my cat, Fred, who never fails to make an appearance throughout the day!

Best thing about AP?

The best thing about working here is the support you receive from all over the business. We’re a small team and there is no real hierarchy. Everybody is here to lend a helping hand, be that a teammate, manager or even our director. There’s also so much encouragement for you to upskill and develop in your role, which is the most important thing for me in any role.

Describe yourself in 3 words:
Chatty, adventurous and a little bit calamitous.
