We’re helping girls & nonbinary teens to access TechForGood education with InnovateHer during lockdown

Here at Active Profile, we are passionate about ensuring there exista diverse tech talent pool for the future. That’s why, for three years, we have been an active partner of InnovateHer.

InnovateHer is a social enterprise with a mission to get girls ready for the tech industry and the industry ready for girls. Having traditionally delivered their programme with schools across the UK, in May 2020, InnovateHer were forced to pivot (like so many other organisations as a result of the global pandemic) and launch their programme online. This move has not only seen them able to continue their efforts with existing schools but has actually supported in expanding their programme to a wider community of tech obsessed girls across the country.

Determined not to allow the pandemic to hinder their efforts, InnovateHer has now launched a FREE programme for individuals at home to have access to over the latest lockdown. Given the importance of the programme, Active Profile will be a supporter of the new online course. Our support means that all individuals who apply are given a free place.

We feel strongly about ensuring that all girls from all backgrounds are given equal opportunities to succeed. With a third lockdown, it’s vital that InnovateHer’s initiative continues to push on to provide the right education and resources to young girls who are keen to pursue a career in the technology industry. We hope they will be working with our clients one day!

Our partnership with InnovateHer is also driven by our shared goal to help improve the UK’s national statistic which sees only 19% of technology roles occupied by women.

InnovateHer’s FREE #TechForGood programme is open until March and suitable for girls/non-binary teens aged 13-16 yearold and aims to inspire them to consider careers in the tech sector, as well as build their confidence. You can register here: https://online.innovateher.co.uk/

InnovateHer also quickly established that access to equipment was an issue early on in the pandemic and so they launched their partnership with the Prince’s Trust in ManchesterThe partnership helps to deliver dongles and tech devices to young girls, so they are able to access and engage with InnovateHer’s programme and continue with their tech driven education.

InnovateHer also partners with key household names including, VeryPlaystationMonterosaCo-op Liverpool Football Club and more. To find out about all of InnovateHer’s partners, click here: https://innovateher.co.uk/
